The Jilter is essentially half a filter with a gap at one end to insert your roach. It is more porous than a usual filter allowing all the good bits to pass through whilst removing a lot of the harmful tars. It also helps cool the smoke and prevents any bits of tobacco accidentally being inhaled through the roach.
